During this tour you will enjoy to see many parts of beautiful countries Georgia and Armenia. First part (7 days we will spend in Georgia). We’ll visit several provinces of the country. You will see architectural monuments, monuments of nature; we’ll go up in high and picturesque Caucasus Mountains; you’ll taste delicious Georgian cuisine and of course world famous wines in several wineries. There will be one day for the capital of Georgia - Tbilisi. By choice some from group can visit several museums in Tbilisi and also have short city-tour.
Second part of this tour we are spending in Armenia. This county is among the oldest cultures that exist in modern times. Georgia and Armenia are linked in the history by many events and are having many similarities culturally. But at the same time Armenian art (architecture, music, paintings, cuisine …) is unique and diverse. Being first country in the world which adopted Christianity as the state religion, always had its unique and beautiful ways expressing everything, especially Christian Art. Here have survived some of the oldest churches in the world. Geographically Armenia is mostly consisting from highlands which are almost without forest. This tremendous and picturesque views lives nobody without astonishment. Also Armenia is rich with big and beautiful canyons. There will be one day in capital of Armenia – Yerevan.

Day 1 -
Meeting the guests at the airport and transferring them to the hotel in a little town Borjomi, a picturesque resort in Lesser Caucasus Mountains.

Day 2 -
After breakfast at the hotel we’ll saunter in Borjomi Park. Then we’ll drive towards tremendous rock-cut cave monastery-town of Vardzia (XII-XIII cc.), consisting 13 floors and more than 6 hundreds of caves. After Vardzia we’ll stop in town Akhaltsikhe where we’ll have a dinner. Then we’ll visit newly restored medieval citadel of Akhaltsikhe, so called Rabat and beautiful museum located inside it. Around 7 p.m. returning to our hotel in Borjomi, free time for evening.

Day 3 -
After breakfast at the hotel we’ll drive towards Georgia’s old capital Kutaisi. In the way we’ll stop at Ubisa Monastery (IX c.) famous for its frescoes from epoch of byzantine Palaiologos Royal dynasty. Near Kutaisi we’ll see one of the most beautiful caves in whole Caucasus region so called Prometheus Cave (about 2 km. long and beautifully illuminated). Then we’ll have a diner in the restaurant. After dinner we’ll visit one of the most important monasteries in history of Georgia – Geltati Monatery (XII c.) – famous for its architecture, frescoes, mosaics and many medieval artifacts made or preserved here during centuries, also listed in UNESCO world heritage list. Around 7 p.m. going to the hotel in Kutaisi, free time for evening.

Day 4 -
After breakfast at the hotel we’ll drive towards mountainous region of Khevi, to the town Stepantsminda (1700 m. above sea level), located in high and picturesque Caucasus Mountains and surrounded by some of its highest peaks. We’ll stop at least two times: first to visit one of the oldest cities preserved in Caucasus – Uplistsikhe (II milenium BC – XVIII cc.) – even almost completely in ruins it is very effective and interesting. After Uplistsikhe we’ll have a dinner at the restaurant. Then we’ll continue our tour towards Stepantsminda on a half way we’ll stop near beautiful village Ananuri where the same name citadel with churches are located. Ananuri complex (XVI-XVII cc.) is one of the last masterpieces of medieval Georgian Architecture. Around 7 p.m. arriving in the hotel in the little town Stepantsminda, free time for evening.

Day 5 -
After breakfast at the hotel we’ll visit Gergeti Sameba (XIV c.) church and monastery, located 2000 meters above seas level, overlooking Stepantsminda. One can hardly imagine place more beautiful and powerful to underline religious ascetism and belief. Besides church being great example of medieval Georgian art, Gergeti Sameba for centuries was also a place where one of the biggest holy relics of Georgian Orthodox Church – Cross of St. Nino – was kept. Then we’ll drive towards city of Mtskheta, capital of ancient gerogian Kingdom Iberia and nowadays mother-city and headquarters of Georgian Orthodox Church. We’ll have dinner in the restaurant in Mtskheta. After dinner we’ll visit three sights: Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (1029 AD), Samtavro Nunnery (IV-XI cc.) and Jvari Monastery. Those are not only the finest examples of Georgian Art, but also the holiest places in whole country. All of them are listed in UNESCO world heritage site. Around 7 p.m. arriving in hotel in the little town Sighnaghi, free time for evening.

Day 6 -
Sighnaghi is located in georgian province Kakheti, region famous for being birthplace of winemaking in the whole world. Sighnaghi irself is rare example of completely preserved fortified city of XVIII century, beautifully located on top of the hill overlooking Alazani Valley and Greater Caucasus Mountains. After the breakfast in the hotel we’ll have short in the city and its museum. After Sighnaghi we’ll drive towards Mildiani Winery, where you can taste several sorts of wonderful wines. Here we’ll have dinner. After dinner we’ll go back to Tbilisi, and only stop two times for Alaverdi (XI c.) and Gurjaani Kvelatsminda (VIII-IX cc.) monasteries, outstanding examples of somewhat distinct variety of allgeorgian art, so called Kakhetian Architecture. Around 7 p.m. we’ll arrive in Tbilisi, transfer to the hotel, free time for evening.

Day 7 -
After the breakfast in the hotel we’ll departure towards Yerevan. Distance is about 280 kilometers. But this road will be interesting because we’ll stop several times for sightseeings. First we’ll visit Akhtala Monastery (X-XIII cc.). During centuries Akhtala was in possession of Zakarid Dukes, but in late XII century had of Zakarid House, Ivane, transferred to Orthodox Christianity and became subject of Georgian Crown. He built Akhtala and made this church burial place of his family. Mainly Georgian, Akhtala is interesting mixture of Georgian and Armenian styles. Next we’ll visit two most prominent monasteries of Armenia – Sanahin (X-XIII cc.) and Haghpat (X-XIII cc.). Just few kilometers from each other, are divided buy big canyon, and can be seen from one another. Both monasteries are gems of Armenian Art - consisting from many buildings, beautifully and richly covered with ornaments, and being examples of High Architecture. Both playing important role in countries history, creating and preserving many manuscripts and medieval documents. Sanahin and Haghpat are listed in UNESCO world heritage list. Arriving in Yerevan. Day 8 -
After the breakfast we’ll visit capital of the Armenian Apostolic Church – Vagharshapat (Echmiadzin). Here we’ll visit three main landmarks – First is Echmiadzin Cathedral (IV-XVIII cc.) which is the holiest and the first place in Armenia where the church was built. The initial church has been several times damaged or completely ruined, thus rebuilt several times during the History. Today’s cathedral dates mainly from late middle ages; second is St. Hripsime church, which is one of the masterpieces of Armenian architecture. Today’s church dates from VII century, built on the tomb of one of the Armenia earliest martyrs St. Hripsime (IV c.); Third is St. Gayane church - exquisite, ascetic and classically beautiful, also built on the tomb (burial place) of St. Gayane. On the way back to Yerevan we’ll visit ruins of magnificent Zvartnots Cathedral (VII c.). Even in ruins it is beautiful and effective with its unusual architecture and ornamentations (listed in UNESCO world heritage). After dinner we’ll visit Geghard (IV-XIII cc.) and Garni (I c. BC) complexes, which are also listed in UNESCO world heritage. Here you can see all the expressiveness of Armenian art – along with beautiful architecture Geghard is heavily decorated, and decoration is not only true examples of high art but also with feeling as if it was alive. Nearby Garni Temple is one rare example of Roman art in Caucasus. Arriving in Yerevan. Accommodation in hotel.

Day 9 -
After breakfast we are driving back to Tbilisi. Before that we’ll visit Yerevan’s Museum of Literature and Art, which is extremely rich with medieval Armenian manuscripts and miniatures (several thousands). Those miniatures are true treasure of Armenian Art. Because of specifics of Armenian Church, frescoes were much less popular than in surrounding Orthodox Christian countries, thus Armenian genius mostly was spent on the art of decoration of manuscripts. We are also going back to Tbilisi by different road, so passing the gem of Armenia – Sevan Lake. Sevan is among biggest freshwater mountain lake in the world (1900 m above sea level) and truly alike the color of the sky. On one peninsula of the lake stands Sevanavank Church (IX-XVI cc.). Even if architecturally it was not interesting, the place is so picturesque that one must stop here and sea all this beauty. Here on Sevan we’ll have a dinner. Arriving in Tbilisi. Free day in Tbilisi. You can spend this day as you wish, but our company provides half-day city tour with museums. One can choose whether to participate or not. Also we’ll advise you in any interesting you subject: shopping, sightseeing, souvenirs, restaurant etc.

Departure day. After breakfast in hotel transfer of the guests to the airport.
