Excursion to City Of Love and The Wine Tunnel

The tour starts from Tbilisi. Going to the wine cellar near Kvareli, so-called Kvareli tunnel. It is carved into the rock tunnel in the length of more than 7 kilometers, which today is a wine cellar. Here we can taste different wines, make “churchxela”, make “chacha”, make Kakhetian bread. After we go to the city of love - Sighnaghi. Visiting the city Sighnaghi. City Sighnaghi is the only city which remained untouched in whole Georgia. Built in the XVIII century king Irakli II-m reached us almost without breaking. Recently, most of the buildings in the city was restored and returned to his historical appearance. In clear weather from there you can see the snowy peaks of the Caucasus Ridge and Alazani Valley. After we will visit the convent of St. Nino Bodbe. The monastery is known as the burial place of St. Nino, enlightener of Georgia. At the burial site of the saint, even in the IV century, the king built church, and in the next century, the monastery was founded. Over the centuries, due to the invasions monastery has suffered many times, but it was always recovered, and most importantly were able to save the holy relics. The monastery is located on a beautiful location and the building consists of many different ages, the oldest building (holy relics are in the church) of the remaining basil are VIII-IX centuries. At the end of the day return to Tbilisi.
